Amazingly, there turns out to be not just one but two top quality things in this pile. The second is Anna Bengo's EP 'Rumpshaker'. The title track is funky, feisty and deliciously groovy, showcasing Anna's wonderfully soulful voice. 'No Blame' is more laid back and slinks into an almost reggae vibe, while 'Momma Loves Me' starts feisty then breaks into a sixties girl pop vibe. Turns out Anna has a great voice for rock as well as funk. 'Too Long' wraps the EP up, a driving rock tune of which Lenny Kravitz would be proud. Most importantly, like the rest of the EP, it has a killer melody.
